Treanor's Halloween

The Friday before Halloween, we went to a Halloween party at the library. We all dressed up.

Delight was a princess (in Praise's dress).

Praise was an angel princess (but without wings or halo).

True was a Vietnamese man (in pajamas).

Zeal was an army man (in camoflauge).

I was an islander (in my authentic puletasi, lei, and jewelry).
At the library party, True and I were among the few adults dressed up. The next night, we went to the ward trunk or treat, but True and I did not dress up. When I saw actual Samoans from our ward and the other ward, I was sad I wasn't wearing my puletasi so that I could say, "Look, I'm Samoan too!" :)

P.S. Yes, our couch is pink. True bought an IKEA cover for $9.00. He said, "Who cares if it's pink?! You couldn't buy the fabric for $9.00! You couldn't even cover the couch with nine $1 bills!"

The girls were thrilled.

Pago Harbor

Recent outing, kids + Eph
A little hike up to the big cannons, (remember Rach?) This is the beach across the street. They always complain at the idea of an outing, but they always come home bubbling with stories and pictures. And I got to clean the house in peace.

Wedding Hair

Check out my masterpiece!

Yeah, I did that. I'm not actually that good at doing hair, but with practice and prayer it turned out pretty okay. :)

Also. Check out her dress. It's my DREAM DRESS. I had it all pictured in my head long before she bought this dress. It is everything I ever wanted in a wedding dress. But now she took it and what am I supposed to do??

She leaves me no choice.

I'm wearing a white pant-suit for my wedding.

And since I haven't showed Natalie's face in one of these pictures yet...here's a nice family shot.

Such a happy day!

Dear Robyn,

I've been thinking about you today, the 14th of October. It's been 20 years since you left this life and passed to the next. How are you? You've probably been busy.

I'm not sure what you in the spirit world observe about us here, but I don't need to tell you about the major highlights of the last 20 years, such as births and marriages, because you probably attended the temple ceremonies yourself. The number of your nieces and nephews continues to grow, and we are teaching them about you and about the need to treat all of our Heavenly Father's children with respect, no matter what their abilities may be.

Your life taught me about love and service, and your passing helped me realize that our Heavenly Father's plan of happiness applies to me personally. Thinking about you in the spirit world, knowing that you and our forebears are there to greet me when I pass on myself, gives me consolation. I look forward to seeing you again, and I want to be worthy to live eternally with you as my sister.

We miss you.

Love, Marcie

Big Weekend

Well as many of you know, my BFF Natalie got married today. Yesterday I got to be there as she went through the temple and it really was such a sweet experience. I just couldn't believe that we both made it and we both got to share in the wonderful experiences of the temple.

Needless to say I was a little emotional.

I spent the night at her house for one final hurrah of roommatehood. We got to bed probably the earliest that we'd ever gotten to bed in three years of college: midnight.

Early this morning we woke up and I got to work constructing the perfect wedding hair-do. (For some reason she asked me to do her hair. I am by no means a hair do-er. So this showed a lot of faith in me. And I showed a lot of faith by praying everyday that it would turn out okay.)

It turned out beautiful. The ceremony in the temple was so wonderful and I cried once again as I saw my life long friend make covenants that bring eternal life. It was just a wonderful day.

And to top it all off, I caught the bouquet! Look out world, I'm next. :)
