Hello Elder Holland

So there I was with my friend Shane walking through the brand spanking new Holland Building built on Dixie State College campus. It was the night before the Holland Building was to be dedicated so guess who happened to walking through the buiding? Me and Shane.

And Elder Holland.

Shane was giving me a tour of the building. I asked if we could go see the library and when we walked up to the second floor, we saw Elder Holland and his wife across the room.

I froze! I couldn't move or speak and I was just content to stare at him. My first thought was "I'm not dressed properly to see an apostle!" (i.e. I wasn't in a skirt.) (Which is completely acceptable for a Thursday night) (In fact, I'm lucky I looked as presentable as I did.) And Shane said his first thought was "I have a beard!"

So what happened next? Elder Holland came right over to us, shook our hands, and told us we were fantastic, both of us. I was beaming. And then he looked at me, grabbed my face in his hand, and said "And look at those dimples!"

Can you believe that? I felt so great. I still don't think any words had come to me at that point, but who needs words when you've got dimples? (They do all the talkin'). Shane quickly asked if we could get a picture so we now have that little treasure which you see now. It was just a really neat experience.

Just another case of "At the right place at the right time."
