Praise is eight! And you know what that means, right?! Halfway to driving and dating! But more importantly, it means she is getting baptized! The date is set for Saturday, July 5, and you are all invited! We're thinking it's going to be at 6 p.m. to accommodate the Browns driving in from Nebraska. If anyone else is wanting to come, we'd love to have you here on this special occasion!

Back to my Kentucky Roots.
Well it's been QUITE an eventful few days for my dental life. And believe me, as dental lives go, mine has already seen some action.
Boring backstory:
I'm getting some new fake teeth. It's something I do every 6 or 7 years. Last Thursday I went to the dentist, he numbed me, popped out my current teeth--the porcelain ones that is, took some impressions (and let's just say I made a good impression...you're welcome), lasered my gums, then put my teef in as 'temporaries'. In two weeks I'll go back and get new fake ones that hopefully look like real ones.
To keep you all feeling like you're a part of the action, I've taken some pictures and videos. I'd like to think my posterity will thank me someday for this personal history. But so help me, if these pictures show up 30 years from now as one of my kids' "Happy Mother's Day" facebook posts.....they are going to get it.
Before. Perhaps this looks familiar? That's because it's what I always looks like.
I asked the nurse...."could you do me a favor and take my picture when you take my teeth out?"
Perhaps this looks familiar? That's because it's from your most unpleasant dreams.
Then they sent me home.
WELL. Not three days later, MY TOOTH CAME OUT! You know that nightmare where your teeth come out? My tooth came out! I knew it was coming, I could just feel it. I'd been eating soft things and chewing with my back teeth for days...which can I just say how not filling a mush diet is?....But alas, the bloomin' tooth still came out.
My initial reactions were crying and laughing. I was laughing because it was to be expected but crying because suddenly I looked like I should work at the Waffle House.
So first this was sad. Then this was embarrassing. Then this was hilarious.
The moral of the story is...sometimes the Lord blesses you with nice things like a good job, a nice family, and blue eyes. Then sometimes he humbles you with weird things, like teeth that never were there, adult cradle cap, and a love life resembling Cast Away. But you know what? It all makes for some fun blog posts.

More Father's Day
I started charging the children a penny every time they say the word "boring" and then they can earn it back by doing something awesome like helping find the pacifier or emptying the dryer. One day last week, Edward was feeling like there was nothing to do, so I told him to pick an activity from our idea jar. He picked, "Write a play and film it."
Edward typed out a play and asked if we could film it and send it to our Grandpas for Father's Day. BUT, all the characters were states and countries. So I told him that filming would require some additional work and preparation. Yesterday, I put Roger down for a nap, and we finished our characters and began filming.
Happy Father's Day to all of you Dads!

Father's Day
We made this for dad. Mark dressed up, Cadence assisted the photographer, Ken nodded approval, I took the photos, Katie and Jill distracted dad while we took the picture, and Jan made the photos look alike.
Our dad really is the best in the world.

Mark and Rachel's Kokomjolk
If there's one thing I love more than Mark, it's me and Mark.
I stopped on by the Mark and Cadence Fillmore residence to enjoy a nice night of fun. And what did I get instead? Funn. With two 'n's. That means it was more than just your average fun.
I will surely miss this guy when he's gone. Happy Birthday Mark!
Mark's Birthday Dinner
Sunday dinner at the Fillmore's
Last Sunday we got together and celebrated Mark's 25th Birthday. Here are some snapshots of the day.
Mark had asked for a pony for his birthday. Because he's their #1 son, mom and dad got him one!
Abbie has a slight fracture in her foot from her car accident, and I have a torn tendon so we were boot twinners.

But unfortunately it got away :(
Dad had made a leather bridle for it. The box had the signs of the pony: hay and manure.
