Rachulliver's Travels

Well in an attempt to stay connected with family, and since I'm jealous that everyone gets to hear about Mark's day-to-day experiences and not mine (as if being in the Navy is even difficult...try being single in St George! It's a battle field out here.), I've decided to bore you all with some pictures and snippets of the last few weeks of my life.

Just to keep your attention and interest, I'll do this in pictures and exclamations. These are in chronological order, not in alphabetical order like you'd expect.

I drove to California to visit my mission!

(actual footage and feelings from the drive)

Boy it was a long and arduous drive. I don't even know what 'arduous' means but I'm sure it's what my drive was. I traveled by myself which was perfect because I want to be the prettiest person in the car at all times.

I went to the Sacramento Temple!

My friend Marc and I went and did a session which was lovely. Last I saw him (five years ago), he was wearing a pony tail, not active, and not even interested in the gospel. Boy was I surprised when he said he wanted to accompany me to the temple. I said, "You know you have to go to church to go in there, right?" just kidding.

I saw some beautiful nature!

There are miles of sunflowers and orchards in northern California.

Unfortunately these were the saddest sunflowers you've ever seen.

Don't worry, the orchards were cheerful.

I saw some redwoods and the ocean and
the Golden Gate Bridge!

Here are some tall trees I saw. And a path I walked on. The fellow with his arm around me took me to Muir (pronounced Meer) woods and we walked a few miles on a trail called "ocean view" trail. Well it should have been called "tree view" because that's all we saw.

The itinerary for the day was to go hiking then to the beach. In my adolescent awkwardness, I wore my swim suit under my hiking clothes and excitedly proclaimed that I was going to swim in the ocean. Well. No one told me it would be freezing cold. So my feet had a nice dip but that was it.

This is the Golden Gate bridge, maybe you've heard of it? It's not actual golden, to my chagrin. So I'd say... save your money for a gate bridge that is advertised accurately. 'Cuz this ones red.

I went kayaking on a lake!

Then I got out of the kayak and got in the sludgy lake which felt like rot between my toes. But I swam in this one due to the disappointment from the day previous. (see ocean picture above).

Back in St. George....

I went to a rodeo! And took a very scenic dump in these! Right next to the livestock!

I found a random broken pinball machine on the porch of a bookstore!

I went to DI and tried on some ugly dresses!
And bought one of them!

So in conclusion, I've had a fun summer. New teeth, Nauvoo, and Northern California. What else is there to life, I ask.
Actually, don't answer that.
