These things are my life

Dear family,

It's time for Rachel's bi-annual life update. I know you all count down the months until you can hear me talk about the points of my life that make you all think "We wish we could be 25 and single again!" I know, right!?

Probably not.

So as to not leave out any points in my comprehensive report of my physical, spiritual, emotional etc well being  I'll use headings and bullet points. Unless more explanation is needed for humor's sake.

Physical
-I go to the gym now
-I watch my sugar intake and try to eat healthy things
-I think I've lost weight but I can't be sure because I have no scale. So I just ask my roommates to pick me up and watch their face. It's almost as effect and just as honest.
Big News Item: I haven't had ice cream yet this year. It all started when I wasn't eating desserts/treats in January and it's kind of carried over and I'm sort of proud of it.

Spiritual
-Still the Relief Society President
-Still spiritual

Emotional
-I've centered myself again after ending my relationship with Dave. What? You didn't know we're not dating anymore? What?! You didn't know we were dating in the first place? Keep up people.

Educational
-I'm still working on my licensing program for being a special ed preschool teacher. Boy it's hard going to school and teaching at the same time.

Occupational
-I recently started teaching full day, which means I teach three 2-hour classes and I'm in charge of like 80 kids. Just kidding, only 30 but some of them are difficult and feel like four kids combined. Some days, teaching feels like I'm trying to bring structure to a natural disaster. But other days I feel very empowered and fulfilled.
-This summer, I'm working for the city recreation department doing Adventure Camp. I'm stoked.

Social
-I went on a lunch date today. The boy's name is Dustin and he's Paul's roommate. No, not the one that already tried to date me, a different one. I feel a little bit like a piece of meat that's getting passed around that apartment. Oh well. As mom would say, "it's something to do."
-My roommate and I are going to a 25 and older activity tonight. (she's 27) Two words. Freaks and Geeks.

Legal
-We have to go to a jury trial to testify against our neighbor who was coming into our house and stealing our things. I'll report on that in my next, bi-annual post. Or you all can tune in to Judge Judy and watch it for yourselves.

Technological
-I've recently got hip to what's now and I got a good credit card and bought a fancy phone and a nice computer. The best part of all of those is that I got them way discounted because I refuse to actually spend retail prices for things. That would be just foolish.
-Also, I've discovered a few good websites with lots of cheap (excuse me, Inexpensive) stuff that I accidentally spend money on. I'm a grown up now, and grown ups need rain boots, patterned tights, stirrup leggings, and a necklace with an octopus pendant.

Well there you have it. Sorry that seemed lengthy. I should have said 'I'll use headings so you can skip over the boring parts.' Now you'll know for next time. St. George has been such a fun experience for me. I feel very blessed and guided by the Lord. Who could ask for anything more.

I love you all! Thank you for how much you care about me.

Better Late than Never

Today I just got my November Conference issue of the Ensign in the mail.  It's February.  Or at least in Samoa, it is.
I'm glad I got it because I missed half of the broadcast since the morning sessions are shown at 5 a.m. at the church.  Our internet's too slow to stream.
Seriously, people, something has got to be done about this.

They lowered the missionary age??!!

Kidding. I knew about that one.

Anyway, I have two months to read it before the next conference.  And the printed version in August.
